摘要： 礼之所以为大，儒家之所以重礼，固然是因为儒家之礼内涵极为丰富，但更重要的是它从总体上使传统中国人的行为有所遵循，确保人合理地待人处世，培植中国人向上向善的责任心和义务感，并保障中国传统社会有序运转。在当前儒学界，对儒家礼学存在不少误读误解，缺乏对儒家礼规功能的系统诠释。从功能主义角度说，儒家阐发和推崇的礼规具有社会表达功能、社会化导功能、社会激励功能、社会定位功能、社会调控功能和社会规范功能。礼既要保留、传承，又要损益、变革，以建立良好的礼治秩序，问题在于要保留、传承和损益、变革哪些礼，以及如何保留、传承和损益、变革礼？解决这两大问题，应当遵循礼义结合原则、仁义结合原则与智义结合原则。

Abstract:
The reason why the etiquette is so important and the confucianism attaches great importance
to it is that, of course, its connotation is very rich. What’s more important is that it makes the behavior of
traditional Chinese people have rules on the whole, ensures that people treat others reasonably, cultivates
Chinese people’s sense of responsibility and obligation to be good, and ensures the orderly operation
of Chinese traditional society. In the current confucianist circle, there are many misunderstandings
of confucian rites, and lack of systematic interpretation of the functions of confucian rites. From the
perspective of functionalism, the ritual rules elucidated and respected by confucianism have the functions of
social expression, socialization guidance, social motivation, social orientation, social regulation and social norms. Etiquette should be preserved, inherited and reformed to establish a good order of the rule of rites.
