摘要： 当前美国处于政治极化的困境之中。美国政治极化的困境不是一个短期的趋势，而是美国政治长期固有的客观规律。美国国家制度的保守性和美国社会生态的开放性之间的内在张力，决定了过一段时期就会出现周期性的政治极化现象。美国在国家形态上是一个老国家，而美国在社会形态上则是一个新社会，两者之间的不平衡发展是政治极化的根源，而经济自由化、社会保守化和全球化并行不悖的趋势一起塑造了当下美国政治极化的困境。与一个极化的美国长期共处，需要新的政治智慧、战略定力和外交艺术，已成为世界各国面临的共同课题。

Abstract:
The United States is in a dilemma of political polarization. The dilemma of American political
polarization is not a short-term trend, but a long-term inherent objective rule of American politics. The
inherent tension between the conservativeness of American state and the openness of American society
determines that there will be periodic political polarization after a period of time. The United States
has an old form of state but a new form of society. The unbalanced development between the two is the
root of American political polarization. The trend of economic liberalization, social conservatives and
globalization together shapes the current dilemma of political polarization in the United States. Long term
coexistence with a polarized United States requires new political wisdom, strategic focus and diplomatic art, which has already been a common problem faced by all countries in the world.
