Resilience is an important feature of the CPC’s governance, which has been fully demonstrated in the process of preventing and resolving various major risks and challenges. The basic framework of analyzing the ruling resilience of political parties includes the ability of the ruling party, the tension and elasticity of macro-political structures, such as party-government relationship, party-mass relationship and inter-party relationship. The strong resilience of the CPC’s ruling is demonstrated in the following four aspects: strong political party capacity, scientific party-government relations, harmonious party-mass relations, and an open and inclusive new party system. The Party’s ability to regulate and adaption constitutes the core element of its ruling resilience; the party-government system of Chinese characteristics is the structural support for its ruling resilience; the political identity and trust of the people strengthen the social foundation of its ruling resilience; and the new Chinese political party system becomes the supporting condition for its ruling resilience. In a ruling environment with a high degree of instability and uncertainty, continuously strengthening the Party’s governing capacity and enhancing the openness, growth and flexibility of the structure of party-government, party-mass and inter-party relations is the key to enhancing the Party’s ruling resilience and achieving long-term effective governance for a century-old party.
